SPIROMETRY
PROCEDURE DESCRIPTION:
Spirometry is a breathing test that evaluates your lung function.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
You will be expected to try and blow forcefully for six seconds into a breathing device. We usually give you 3 attempts so we can get your very best effort. A report will be made and your results discussed with you.
PRE- PROCEDURE:
If your breathing pattern is at its baseline, then would ask that you not use your bronchodilator (albuterol, Proair, Ventolin, Maxair, Xopenex, Serevent, Combivent) six hours before your visit. Obviously, if you feel it is needed, then use your bronchiodilator.
